The Humanizing Power of Dialogue

Watch as our members and volunteers share how book clubs create a vital space for empathy, self-reflection, and connection within the federal correctional system.

The Impact of Literacy and Connection

Our Member Survey highlights the significant role these book clubs play in rehabilitation and personal development:

  • 93% of members believe participation helps prevent reoffending.
  • 90% reported improved communication skills.
  • 86% value the space for civil discussion and diverse viewpoints.
  • 85% experienced a measurable improvement in reading skills.

These outcomes demonstrate that book clubs are not just a recreational choice but a fundamental tool for successful reintegration and community building.
